Sou até hoje apaixonada pela Hello Kitty! O amor é tanto que nos anos 90 criei até um Fotolog  (lembram disso? hahaha) só com fotos da Hello KItty e sua turma. Já ganhei uma festa de aniversário surpresa da Hello Kitty (isso com 20 anos, abafa o caso hahaha). No Brasil, a história da Hello Kitty começou na década de 80, quando alguns distribuidores importavam produtos da marca diretamente do Japão ou dos Estados Unidos. A partir daí, a personagem começou a conquistar os seus primeiros consumidores e fãs. Mas, somente no final dos anos 90, a empresa entrou definitivamente no mercado brasileiro. O marco da chegada da Hello Kitty por aqui foi a abertura, em 1999, da primeira loja Sanrio, no Shopping Eldorado.

Uma das personagens mais famosas do mundo, a Hello Kitty (nome completo Kitty White), completa neste ano 47 anos. Ela foi criada pela empresa japonesa Sanrio.

Ao redor do mundo, estampa roupas, mochilas, estojos, lancheiras, objetos de decoração, papelaria, perfumes, produtos de beleza e até mesmo eletrodomésticos. Sem contar nos fofíssimos brinquedos e as guloseimas, como sorvetes, biscoitos, balas e chicletes.

Uma das peculiaridades da personagem, é que ela não tem boca. Muitos defendem que é porque ela não precisa de boca, já que fala com o coração. Mas, isso não é verdade. De acordo com a marca, a ideia da ausência de expressão é permitir que todo tipo de sentimento possa ser projetado na gatinha.
